Buffett Berkshire Hathaway bought 75 million shares of Apple's stock in Q1 of 2018



World famous investor and the third richest man in the world Warren Buffet recently bought up 75 million shares of Apple stock.

Previously, Buffett also has 165.3 million shares of Apple and if combined with newly purchased shares, the number reached 240.3 shares or 5% of Apple's total shares and Apple's third largest shareholder. Buffett's decision to buy 75 million shares of Apple shares also boosted the value of Apple's shares, and made Apple now worth $ 930 billion dollars.Not disclosed how much money spent by Buffett - through its holding company called Berkshire Hathaway - to buy the Apple stock.

Although just bought up shares of Apple, the third richest man in the world claimed to still interested in buying shares of Apple.

Buffett himself was quite late to invest in Apple and technology stock as a whole. But now, the boss of the Berkshire Hathaway company became one of Apple's biggest shareholders.

As with other investments, Buffett says that Apple has a bright future. He is also not too care about the latest  Apple sales, the iPhone X in this first quarter.

"If you just spend a lot of time trying to guess how many iPhone X will be sold in a certain three-month period, for me it really loses its main points," Buffett said.

But clearly, the value of Apple shares owned by Buffer is currently worth USD 42.6 billion, if calculated with the current value of Apple's stock, which is USD 176.89 per share.

"If you look at Apple, I think they make almost twice as much money than the second most profitable company in the United States," Buffett said.

Apple's share value recently jumped 9%, from USD 162.32 per share to USD 176.89 per share. This surge came after Apple released its Q2 financial statements for fiscal year 2018.

In fact, iPhone sales are lower than previously estimated, ie 'only' sold as much as 52.2 million units, compared to the estimated 52.4 million units. Of the total sales during Q2, the average price of the iPhone sold was USD 728, lower than the price of iPhone X
