Google I/O 2018 offers the latest technology with artificial intelligence (AI) features

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is a major theme of the Google I / O annual developer conference in 2018. Google CEO Sundar Pichai spent the first 90 in his presentation to discuss AI.

AI has embedded Google in many of its products. Here are some important points in Pichai's announcement on Tuesday (8/5).

1. Android P

Android P certainly brings a variety of significant changes compared to its predecessor, in the field of appearance and technology. One of the most striking, navigation with three buttons below the screen disappeared, replaced one home button only.

There are interesting features such as adaptive battery and adaptive brightness. Adaptive battery, for example, will prioritize power in the most widely used applications. While adaptive brightness automatically adjusts the screen brightness level is most suitable for users.

2. Gmail Smart Compose

Google I / O event this time can be regarded as a show of sophistication artificial intelligence (AI) made by Google embedded in many services. One is what's called Smart Compose in Gmail.

With machine learning, this feature can predict the word to be typed by the user. Not just a word, but a sentence based on context and history.

3. AI features in Google Photos

Google Photos gets many new features based on artificial intelligence and learning engines. Google Photos is now capable of taking old black and white photos and changing them into realistic colors. The photo will also be edited in the process.

4. Google Assistant

Google Assistant is certainly increasingly sophisticated and useful. This smart digital assistant will get 6 different new sounds, including the voice of singer John Legend. His voice will be more realistic, even adjust the accent or dialect of languages in the world.

Another new update available soon is that the user can submit a call or a follow-up conversation with Assistant in just one activate with the "Hey Google" command. Multiple Actions support also allows it to answer multiple commands at the same time, no need to be separated.

5. Google Duplex

Using text speech, artificial intelligence, and machine learning, Google Assistant in the future can really act as an assistant with human voice and capabilities.

In the demo of Google CEO, Sundar Pichai, Assistant can call human employees to order salons or restaurants. So naturally, the employee is not aware of talking to a fake human.

This is not a feature to be launched in the near future, but this is the focus that Google is working on for businesses and consumers. So far, Google has produced a Home robot that can interact very well.

6. Google Maps

Maps will have a new tab that says "For you" in the app. This tab shows new business users and trending restaurants around them.

Google also added a new "Your Match" score to show users the possibility of liking new restaurants based on their historical ratings.

Users also have new features to share the list of restaurants they want to visit together. Just long press on any restaurant list then users will be able to list the restaurant with friends.

They can add other options, and the group can then select a restaurant from the group list. These new features will be rolled out to Google Maps this summer.

In addition, Google announced that they are also working on a new feature that blends computer vision with cameras and Google Maps Street View to create an AR experience on Google Maps.

Google Lens will also be collaborating on this project in the coming weeks. The lens itself can now understand the words, so users can copy and paste words on a mark or piece of paper onto the clipboard of the phone.
