Vladimir Putin was officially sworn in as President of Russia for a term of 2018 to 2024 on Monday (7/5/2018). Reported by AFP, in the swearing-in ceremony at the Andreyev Hall, Putin promised to use his fourth period to revitalize the Russian economy. "I think my duties and life are for the good of Russia both now and in the future," Putin said in his promise. In his speech, the 65-year-old president thanked the support of his supporters.
Putin has been in power since 1999, as expected, again won the Russian presidential election in March by winning 76.7 percent of the vote.
"I am very aware of my great responsibility, as head of state, I will fight to give wealth, strength, and reputation to Russia," Putin said. He promised to raise the living standards of citizens in the "Red Bear" Country.

Putin said their lives will increase. "We need breakthroughs in various fields, I believe it can be achieved if people accept new ideas, and reject injustice," said the former KGB secret agent. The expert argues, in this fourth period, the challenge facing Putin is the economic slowdown as a result of Western isolation, and the fall in world oil prices.
The isolation was granted by the West following Russia's occupation of the Crimean Peninsula, Ukraine, in March 2014. "Russia has never been in an isolated situation since the Soviet era in the Afghan War of 1979-1989," said freelance political analyst Dmitry Oreshkin. Oreshkin believes Putin will change his leadership style to face the international community in his new tenure.
"Putin's job is no longer bringing new territory to Russia, but forcing the world to consider Russian interests," Oreshkin said. However, Oreshkin's opinion was denied by the head of the Russian think tank, Political Expert Group, Konstantin Kalachev. In Kalachev's view, all forms of concession are considered weak by Putin. "So, I do not think he will change his leadership style," he described.
All Russian television stations broadcast live the inauguration of Putin. Putin was seen walking along the aisle of the Kremlin and thanked his supporters.
Putin has been Russia's second longest leader since Soviet dictator Joseph Stalin has been in power for 40 years.
