Google co-founder Larry Page-funded flying car project has tested their prototype product. The flying car prototype named The Flyer was made by the startup company Kitty Hawk. But this new prototype can fly over open water. Trials are conducted on the pier of a lake in Las Vegas, United States.
"Flyers are designed to be flown easily for recreational purposes on water and not crowded area," wrote the Kitty Hawk website.
In the demo video, the flying car is floating above the water assisted by a propeller at the bottom car. This car looks like a jet ski with wings rather than flying cars.
They plan this flying car will go on sale later this year. But there is no official price for this car.
Kitty Hawk says it has received permission to let a flying car driver drive it in a less crowded area. Drivers also do not need to have a pilot certification to fly it.

Kitty Hawk CEO Sebastian Thrun said in an interview with CNN, The Flyer is one solution in the future given vehicles traffic in various countries in the world will be increasingly crowded.
This car has 10 small rotors on the wing to lift the car. So this car can land and rise vertically like a helicopter.
With so many propellers on the body, it is understood that car is noisy. Kitty Hawk mentions that from a distance of 15 meters cars noise sounded like a lawnmower.
In this prime testing, the car can only run at a speed of 32 kilometers per hour and floating in the air not more than three meters.
Competition to make a flying car is being fierce. Some other companies such as Aeromobil and Terrafugia are also developing a flying car that looks like a mini plane.
Because it uses a vertical landing and takeoff system. So these cars do not need the runway. Google Co-founder Larry Page himself is one of the investors who funded part of this project
