The iconic Ford F-150 Raptor reborn - the best high-performance double cabin off-road pickup - better still with improved technology including class-exclusive, electronically handled FOX(TM) shocks, new Path Control(TM) and all-new Recaro sports chairs.
The improvements are centered on key components which may have made Ford F-150 Raptor the standard in off-road pickup trucks for a straight tougher, smarter, more competent trail runner.
"Raptor's success is rooted in its extraordinary suspension system, superb vehicle control and the self-assurance the pickup truck instills in its owners," said Hermann Salenbauch, global director, Ford Performance vehicle programs. "Upgrades to the 2019 F-150 Raptor have upgraded all three to new levels that your competition must benchmark - again."
While Raptor has plenty enough of torque and hp, creating a high-performance off-road pickup truck is not only about engine electricity - it is also about the suspension system. Raptor's suspension improvements make it even more with the capacity of clawing away at the ground.
To improve Raptor's already proven inner bypass shocks, Ford Performance proved helpful immediately with FOX to build up all-new electronically manipulated Live Valve technology for the new program that continually adjusts damping in real-time. This class-exclusive installation uses receptors in the suspension system and body to increase comfort, controlling and bottom-out amount of resistance.
"By automatically differing compression rates, Raptor is now able to make the almost all of its suspension system travel of 13 inches wide at the front end and 13.9 ins at the trunk," said Salenbauch. "The 2019 Raptor is not simply more able off-road. It's smarter."
Combined with Raptor's Surfaces Management System(TM), Live Valve suspension system technology can raise the truck's high-speed off-road potential while also permitting smooth on-road driving a vehicle performance.
"Not many vehicles need detectors to identify if you are midair," said Salenbauch. "Raptor pieces the dampers to full rigidity to help simple impact performance as the vehicle lands."
Low-speed performance off-road is also better. New Path Control helps Ford F-150 Raptor motorists navigate challenging conditions. It's like sail control for low-speed, tough terrain, automatically changing vitality and braking to every individual wheel to permit drivers to give attention to steering over the solid terrain. Path Control can be triggered at rates of speed from 1 mph up to 20 mph depending on driveline position.
The machine makes everything easier - from generating on a straightforward two-track path to traversing a rocky hill climb. Not merely can Trail Control automatically attract significant engine unit torque to defeat steep road blocks, it can independently brake the tires so the vehicle comes down efficiently on the other hand.
Raptor drivers will have improved seats to keep them firmly set up for improved assurance at low and high rates of speed. All-new Recaro sport car seats provide extreme support with ample bolstering in the couch back and pillow. This available seat design features blue Alcantara inserts and accent stitching motivated by the Light Speed-colored interior of the Ford GT supercar, goes on sale in late 2018.
