Barack and Michelle Obama are rumored to have agreed on a multi-year to produce a number of movies and series alongside Netflix streaming service.
Former US president and first lady, has launched Higher Ground Productions to create a variety of content for video viewing, in the form of script series, documentaries, and other features.
"One of the simplest joys of our time we serve the public is to meet many interesting people from all walks of life, and to help them share their experiences with a wider audience," Barack Obama said in a statement on Monday (21/5) US time.
"This is why Michelle and I are very excited about working with Netflix, and we hope to be able to work with creative talents and be able to promote broader empathy and understanding between communities and help them share their story with the world."
Cooperation will make it possible for Barack Obama and Michelle to expand the campaign they have been doing in social media. Netflix itself has 125 million subscribers in 190 countries.
"Barack and Michelle Obama are among the most respected people in the world and very well known to the public and uniquely have a decisive position and are able to make a big difference in their community and try to change to make a better world," said Netflix content leader Ted Sarantos
The statement does not address the value of their agreement, but based on Obama's experience at the White House, one is their biographical contracts worth more than $ 60M is an advantage for them.
