Mercedes is still the best in free practice sessions. Now defending champion Lewis Hamilton became the fastest driver beat the Red Bull duo.
At free practice at Catalunya Circuit, Friday (5/11/2018), Hamilton recorded the best time with 1 minute 18.259 seconds, ahead 0.133 seconds from Daniel Ricciardo. Max Verstappen finished third with 0.274 seconds from Hamilton.
The Dutchman improved his time record as well as his position from the previous session. However, Verstappen had twisted in the second corner when racing with soft tires
Behind Verstappen is Sebastian Vettel which is 0.05 seconds away. The Ferrari driver finished in front of Valtteri Bottas, who led in the first session.
Kimi Raikkonen became the slowest driver among the top three teams. The Ice Man briefly widened to the gravel at four corners before entering the pits when the session left less than 40 minutes due to unknown problems.
Duo Haas Romain Grosjean and Kevin Magnussen followed in seventh and eighth positions respectively. Stoffel Vandoorne and Sergio Perez completed in the top 10.
