Benefit of plant medicine
An increasing number of people are turning to the world of natural and plant medicine, with highly effective results. Unlike modern medicine, which focuses more on symptomatic relief and chronic treatment, natural medicine deals more with prevention, detoxing, complete cures, awareness and the optimum maintenance of health and energy.
Cannabis oil and cancer
Could the cannabinoid molecule be the magic silver bullet” against cancer and other ailments for which doctors have been searching for decades? Possibly — ongoing research in many countries suggests that marijuana may be one of the most powerful healing plants known to man. Its many benefits go far beyond cancer.
Hemp or cannabis oil is extracted from the marijuana plant, and the concentrated formulation is taken orally. Natural medicine practitioners are demonstrating that a surprising number of diseases can be cured or managed by ingesting varying quantities of cannabis oil over a period of weeks or months.
Two of the most important types of chemicals in hemp oil are cannabinoids (CBDs) and tetrahydrocannabinol (THC). In a nutshell, these active ingredients trigger cancer cells to self-destruct through a process called autophagy (to consume oneself). This effectively eliminates cancer, leaving healthy cells intact and totally unaffected.
When used correctly, the oil has no serious side effects. Cannabis oil has an impressive track record in eliminating brain tumours and breast cancer among many other cancers, and complete cures are becoming quite common. Such plant medicine is nothing less than miraculous and should be headline news. The diagram below reveals some of the staggering benefits of the cannabis plant as determined by pharmacists.
It’s fascinating to note that the psycho-active effects of certain plants often go hand in hand with their powerful curative effects. Could the shift in consciousness actually be part of the cure and lead to good health in general? Thankfully, many modern doctors are beginning to take the mind-body connection more seriously.
Tragic Medical statistics
At this moment in history, contemporary medicine kills an alarming number of people. In fact, medical errors remain the third deadliest killer in the West after cancer and heart disease. This has been confirmed by the Institute of Medicine (10M) and the American Medical Association (AMA). and has been published in reputable medical/scientific journals.
The medical fraternity has evolved to serve humanity with astonishing innovativeness, but Western medicine’s reputation has further been damaged by reports of profit having overtaken ethical considerations. This has been aggravated by medical malpractice, profiteering, arrogance, unnecessary surgery and medically caused deaths. Is such malpractice behind the groundswell of change towards natural medicine?
Ingesting medicinal cannabis
Let’s take a closer look at the cannabis or marijuana plant. If one ingests it, rather than smoke it, the benefits have been shown to be nothing less than remarkable. Two popular ways of ingesting medicinal cannabis are drinking the juice extracted from the leaves and buds, and consuming cannabis oil itself. Cannabinol, released through juicing, is non-psychoactive (zero “high”) with vast and impressive healing potential. This has been consumed by humans for thousands of years.
Cannabis oil, the most commonly used form, which is a highly viscous, sticky substance that varies in color from dark green to amber, has powerful medicinal qualities that have been shown to effectively treat a wide range of conditions, particularly cancer. It’s extracted from the cannabis plant and is unfortunately still illegal in South Africa. Cannabis oil contains the psycho active chemical THC. This means that treatment may be accompanied by a mild psycho-active effect (but not always) to which the body builds up tolerance.
After ingestion, any effects wear off after a few hours, so it’s an ideal plant medicine to ingest before going to sleep. The quality of sleep is excellent, as is one’s focus during waking hours. A completely different product is hemp seed oil, which is extracted from the seeds, not the plant itself and is often mistaken for, and even sold as, medicinal cannabis.
Hemp seed oil is protein-rich and has been regarded as a superfood due to its unique 2:5:1 ratio of omega-3 to omega-6 to gamma linolenic acid. It’s healthy, legal and widely available, but it won’t cure cancer.
The legalities
Worldwide, the attitude towards cannabis is changing. Although it’s still illegal in South Africa, medicinal cannabis has already been legalized in several American states. Current research across Europe, particularly in Spain and Uruguay, where it’s also legal, shows that hemp oil may cure cancer in some people without side effects.
Where can you obtain cannabis oil?
Cannabis or hemp oil — also known as Rick Simpson Oil — is available in the US from Medicinal Marijuana Clinics. The oil is already legal in 16 states, with legalization currently pending in six other states.
This unfortunately doesn’t help locals though — due to the illegality of cannabis in South Africa, those extracting the oil naturally keep a low profile. But professionally prepared, high-quality medicinal oils are nevertheless available locally, provided you know where to look. Contemporary medicine is quick to lump plant medicine practitioners together with drug dealers and quacks.
The irony is that the biggest dealers in drugs on the planet are the big pharmaceutical companies. In the world of plant medicine, an enormous amount of good is being done and remarkable cures are being effected. Without invoking the Hippocratic Oath, it’s clearly against medicine’s own code of ethics to persecute the purveyors of such natural, effective, plant-healing power.
