The rising US rap star XXXTentacion was shot dead on a street in Florida, shortly after leaving a motorcycle dealer on Monday (18/6).
Police in Broward County said XXXTentacion, a 20-year-old boy whose real name is Jahseh Onfroy, was immediately rushed to a hospital, but later declared dead.
Jahseh Onfroy is often referred to as one of the most controversial rap musicians, and is facing domestic violence allegations.
He is widely hailed as a talented artist who managed to make breakthroughs. The sorrows flow from various musicians and hip-hop figures.
Police said XXXTentacion aka Jahseh Onfroy left the motorcycle dealer shortly before 16:00 local time when two armed suspects approached him.
At least one of them shot him, then both fled from the scene at Deerfield Beach, 69 miles from Miami, with a dark car.
Investigators said the incident was "suspected to be a robbery". The video posted on social media showed Onfroy lying in his car.
A witness told celebrity news website TMZ, when the incident happened, a number of shots outside the motor dealer.
This young rising star rapper release his first album on August 17 last year. Among the songs that became a hit, among others SAD! and Moonlight.
The song came on top of Billboard charts on March 200 and was listened to by hundreds of million people through online channels.
His first album included the about depression theme and was praised by most famous rap stars.
But his brief career was disrupted by allegations of domestic violence. Shortly before his death, he faces 15 counts of criminal offenses, including hitting a pregnant woman.
