Gaming world trends are increasingly shifting in mobile games, Google is reportedly making a console. Even reportedly, monster technology has also been doing recruitment of special employees to develop a console.
The news is revealed by five inside sources who do not want to be identified. Although it does not provide further details, according to these five sources this Google-made console will use a streaming service to play the game.
Google will push the console price to a lower level than Microsoft or Sony, so Google does not use high-end CPUs and GPUs but uses streaming services to keep production costs low.
Even so, keep in mind that the game streaming service requires a faster internet connection than the regular user, so heavy processes like graphical rendering will use the server and need a fast connection to make the process run smoothly.
Development of this project makes Google must acquire game developers start up in the near future. Even reportedly Google is preparing big investment for their ambition to launch immediately a game console based on the streaming platform.
Another feature that Google is allegedly working on is tight integration with YouTube. If you're stuck at a particular part of a game and need a few hints, you'll be able to activate an overlay with the press of a button that brings up a walkthrough of that game on YouTube. That sounds like a neat idea, but once again we'll need to see how it works in real-world scenarios.
As for the gaming console that is rumored to accompany the streaming service, details are light on what sort of hardware it will offer and what dedicated games it will offer. One of the reasons NVIDIA's Shield works so well for gaming is that it has a dedicated library of games optimized for the platform, and it remains to be seen if Google will take a similar approach.
For now, Google's game streaming service sounds like an ambitious idea, but the company has been known to abandon endeavours that don't meet its expectations. It'll be interesting to see what comes out of this project, but the idea of a subscription-based game streaming service from Google certainly sounds exciting.
However, there is no further information on when the console will most likely be introduced. Google still has not commented about this news.
So far, although video game trends have begun to shift to the mobile gaming industry, game developers believe game console market is still promising and growing.
Sony and Microsoft are the largest console vendors even ensure will launch their newest console in about 2020. If this rumor is true, then the game console competition in the future will be more fierce. It is not possible if Sony, Microsoft, and Nintendo will be challenged by Google's latest console.
