Hamilton wins French GP at the Paul Ricard Circuit ' on Comeback' Event

Beginning with the drama, ending with the usual. That's a roughly in general picture F 1 French GP held at Paul Ricard Circuit on Sunday (24/06/2018).

Although it is one of the oldest GP in the world - it has been held since 1906 -, this series in France had stopped for ten years before being held back this season. The last time, Ferrari racer Kimi Raikkonen came out as the winner in this circuit

For Ferrari itself, Paul Ricard Circuit is one of their spiritual home. In history, they are constructors with the most wins (17 times). However, in comeback event this time, they failed to seize the top podium. Raikkonen did appear quite aggressive but this time he was only able to finish in third.

Eighth series race this 2018 season, Lewis Hamilton came out as the winner, is not surprising because the British driver, since the first free practice, he was already showing his dominance. Of all the series of races, Hamilton just failed to be the fastest in third free practice session.

With a record time of 1: 38,385, Hamilton successfully outperformed his opponents. However, the success of 33-year rider is absolutely inextricable from what happened to Valtteri Bottas and Sebastian Vettel. When the race had just begun, Bottas and Vettel crashed instantly which resulted in their car being damaged. The two riders also inevitably have to go into the pit stop and it is very influential on their position.

Behind Hamilton, there is Red Bull racer, Max Verstappen. Start of fourth, Verstappen take advantage of the crash between Bottas and Vettel was to rush to second place. However, no matter how hard Verstappen tried, he was never quick enough to take top spot from Hamilton. This is evident from the distance of time that reached 7.090 seconds between himself and Verstappen.

Meanwhile Raikkonen successfully won the battle with Daniel Ricciardo to seize the third podium, with a time difference of up to almost nine seconds. Ricciardo himself finished fourth.

Following behind Ricciardo, is Vettel, the German driver had to give up the top position in the drivers' standings to Hamilton. Now, Vettel displaced into second place with 131 points, 15 points behind Hamilton.
