North Korea's Senior General executed for adding extra rations for troops

North Korean leader Kim Jong-un is said to have ordered the execution of a military officer for providing additional food and fuel for his troops.

Reported by North Korea Daily (NK Daily), Lieutenant General Hyon Ju Song fired on 90 bullets by firing squad consisting of nine people.

He was sentenced to death after being convicted of abusing power, taking advantage of the enemy and taking anti-party action.

The NK Daily report said Lt. Gen. Hyon Ju Song was shot dead at the Kang Kon Military Academy, Sunan District, the capital of Pyongyang, North Korea.

According to NK Daily, Hyon Ju Song's crime was to distribute additional supplies for his men at the satellite launch station in April.

The high-ranking officer ordered his soldiers to send food and fuel because they no longer had to skimp on Kim Jong-un's weapons program.

"When checking the supply of oil for the Sohae Satellite Launch Station in a comprehensive inspection of warts supply inventory on April 10, Hyon stated 'we no longer have to suffer and tighten our belts to make rockets or nuclear weapons,' NK Daily wrote.

According to NK Daily, it is considered an abuse of authority and a betrayal statement against the party policy that prioritizes the military.

"He gave instructions to send a ton of fuel, 580 kilograms of rice, and 750 kilograms of corn for military personnel at the Satellite Launch Station and their families," NK Daily wrote. It is considered an anti-party act that violates the ten principles of forming a one party ideology system.
