It is estimated that the discussion on this plan will be split in the US Congress, with some parties calling the formation of Space Forces unnecessary and only spend a lot of budgets. Democratic Senator Brian Schatz said the Space Forces were a 'stupid idea'.

But Pence said the Pentagon would lead the space operation through the newly formed United Space Command. Later, the United Space Command will be the center for all military operations in space and will be led by a four-star general.

Pence also announced the creation of a space development agency that will seek every development of advanced and up-to-date technology for space military operations. Pence stressed that the agency would be separated from the 'bureaucratic rules' that overshadowed previous space projects.

"Now, the time has come to record the next great round in the history of the United States Armed Forces - to prepare for the next battlefield where the best and bravest of Americans will be called to ward off and defeat the threat of a new generation for our people, for our nation , "Pence said.

Pence added that the Pentagon will begin to formulate a framework for the US Space Force which is targeted to be formed in 2020. It is known that Trump's re-nomination campaign for 2020 has begun to send fundraising emails, which also ask Trump supporters to choose a logo for the US Space Force.

This Space Force will be the sixth US military branch. So far, the US has five military branches, including the US Army, US Navy, US Air Force, US Marine Corps and US Coast Guard. The US space forces are responsible for a series of crucial military capabilities based on space, ranging from satellite-controlled Global Positioning Systems (GPS) to sensors capable of tracking missile launches.
