CAIRO, - The Arab League Human Rights Committee urged the International Criminal Court (ICC) to immediately start an investigation against Israel. The call came after clashes in the Gaza Strip between Palestinians and Israeli officials on Monday (5/14/2018). "Israel is a manifestation of oppression and cruelty, all its officials and politicians must be submitted to the criminal tribunal," said committee chairman Amjad Shamout.
Arab League chief Ahmed Abdul Gheit told Al Jazeera on Tuesday (15/05/2018) to condemn the shooting of the Palestinian people. The action, said Gheit, is worth categorizing war crimes. He called on the international community to protect the Palestinians.

"They (Palestinians) have chosen peaceful struggle, but must be faced with brutal violence and cruelty," Gheit condemned. The Arab League appeal received a response from the ICC Chief Prosecutor, Fatou Bensouda. He promised to follow up the call soon. "My staff is closely watching the developments in Gaza, and have noted the alleged crimes committed," Bensouda asserted.
Bensouda wants the violence to stop and ask the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) to not use excessive force. Because Bensouda had made an initial investigation related to the situation in Palestine. "I will pay attention, and will act on the mandate I receive in accordance with the Rome Statute," he said.
Reportedly, Israeli officials killed 60 Palestinians in clashes that occurred before the opening of the United States Embassy Office in Jerusalem. In addition, there are 2,700 people injured in the deadliest events that since 2014 in the Gaza Strip.
