A woman named Alice Riley is in the spotlight after she confesses her experience of being a virgin in her late twenties.
Speaking at ITV's This Morning, the digital marketer and blogger explain that her virginity status is not dependent on religious beliefs, but on an indirect decision from within herself. "I think it's part of the circumstances and some of the options," Alice told the event host.
"When someone wants it, it means she is waiting for the right person, and obviously some people do not care," she added.
This 27-year-old woman admits she is in a category where she is not looking for a man who will marry her. Alice reveals she wants something that will not be love in one night.
"I want something connected more than sex, I guess I never found the right person," she said.
Alice also said to be in a relationship with a man for five weeks, she and her lover then failed to have sex when she found out that the man still has feelings for his ex-girlfriend.
This blonde woman continued that the decision to keep her virginity had nothing to do with a lack of confidence, or a lack of interest in sex, as is suspected in some people.
"The main misconception that people have if you're still virgin that doesn't mean that you're not at all interested in sex," she said.
Alice's appearance was stealing attention in social media and become viral. Some of them expressed their admiration for Alice who retained her virginity. However, there is also a criticism of Alice's attitude.
"That's good for her, from a religious standpoint, you're 'pure'," commented on Twitter under the Natalie Simpson account name.
"Being a virgin does not make you better than someone who has had sex, it does not define you," someone criticized in Twitter.
