Edward Snowden: “There’s no one in this world Trump loves more than Putin

It’s clear Donald Trump is a huge fan of Russian President Vladimir Putin. But whistleblower Edward Snowden says Americans shouldn’t get their hopes up that special counsel Robert Mueller is going to nail the U.S. president for colluding with the Kremlin.

National Security Agency (NSA) whistleblower Edward Joseph Snowden talks about President Donald Trump's closeness with Russian President Vladimir Putin. According to him, US citizens should not be too hopeful that special investigator Robert Mueller will unravel the alleged collusion of Trump campaign team with the Kremlin in the US elections in 2016.

“There’s no one in this world that [Trump] loves more than the Russian president,” said Snowden, who exposed eavesdropping by the National Security Agency five years ago and now lives in exile in Russia, a refugee from U.S. treason charges.

"I think people are asking too much when they hope that Mueller's investigation will come with weapons against Trump, yes, Vladimir Putin, Donald Trump in a hotel room with a 'piss ribbon'," said Snowden told The Intercept on Saturday (26 / 5/2018).

"That's not how the world works, it's not that simple," Snowden went on.

Snowden, speaking from Moscow, said that he also does not believe Trump is the kind of double operator that Putin will rely on.

"To be honest, everyone who has heard Trump speak for three minutes knows he is a destructive ball," he said.

"It does not sound like the person you want to get involved in the complicated 'Manchurian Candidate' spy operation when that person does not even remember what he'll say at the end of the sentence," Snowden quipped Trump.

"That does not mean he does not cooperate," Snowden added. "That does not mean he will not do anything to make a profit."

Snowden encourages people, including candidates to leak in the US government, to keep fighting for change.

"I believe that this world can be better. I believe that this world should be better. But it will not get any better unless we make it better, "he explained." And that takes risks. It takes hard work. It may ultimately require sacrifice. "
