Police Chief Muna AKBP Agung Ramos said, residents then tried to kill the snake using a sword, knife, and hammer because suspicious Wa Tiba has been swallowed by the python then bringing the snake to the village hall and split it "It turns out right, her body in the belly of a snake in a state intact" Unfortunately, the victim is dead," said Police Chief Muna AKBP Agung Ramos. Village residents were excited and flocked to come to the village of Persiapan Lawela and also mourning to the victim's home.
"We can not conclude as to the cause whether related to the disturbed habitat cannot be concluded," he said.
Agung explains this the first time snake attack on humans in Muna District.
"This is the first I hear ya (snake swallowing a human) here," said Agung.
Regarding why the snake swallows a man whole, Head of Laboratory Research Center for Biology LIPI Herpitologi Hamidy Amir has his own analysis. He explained the snake did eat its prey without chewing first. Only, different between crippling the prey with convolute and using poison.
All pythons swallowed the whole victim, and python paralyzes prey with tightly convolute the victim's body so they cannot breathe," Amir said
He also suggested to people who would go to the cornfield to bring the dog. According to Amir, dogs can detect the presence of even large snakes.
"If we take dogs, dogs will know better, react and bark first, especially because the color of this python is similar with bushes, so it is not visible," said Amir.
