MIT Scientists discover 'quadrillion tons of diamond' beneath Earth's surface

The Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) scientists claim to have discovered a diamond mountain. Yes, diamonds amounting to more than a quadrillion tons beneath the earth's surface are like piling up like a mountain.

The location of this diamond is located 170 kilometers deep under the surface of the earth.

However, according to the MIT team, as reported by Mirror.co.uk, July 17, 2018, the diamond mountain is located at the root of cratonic. This layer is basically the most ancient part of the land on the earth so deep,  it is impossible for humans to go there.

"This shows that diamonds are not exotic and rare minerals, but on a geological scale, diamonds are a relatively common material," said Ulrich Faul, a scientist from the Department of Earth Sciences, Atmospheric and Planet MIT.

According to Faul, with today's technology, humans will not be able to get it. Ulrich and the team managed to find the diamond mountain by sending sound waves down through the earth's crust. This cratonic root is believed to be shaped like an upside-down mountain.

The deepest drilling of the earth with conventional drilling ever conducted by humans as deep as 2.4 kilometers in Russia. The 20-year-old drilling was abandoned when the Soviet Union collapsed.

"We can not get it, but still, there are more diamonds there than we ever thought before," Faul said, as reported by the MIT News page.

Faul explains that the kratonic root is like a piece of wood, floating in water. Kratons are slightly denser than the material around them, so they are not sub-conditioned back to earth but still floating on the surface.

"This is how they preserve the oldest rocks, so we found that you only need 1 to 2 percent diamonds for the kratonic to stabilize and not drown," Faul said.

When compared with the price, a diamond weighing one quadrillion tons or about 1 million billion tons could reach £150,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000  this number can certainly shake the world economy.
