Washington DC - US President Donald Trump has been widely criticized for defending Russian President Vladimir Putin when in a press conference Putin denied interfering the US presidential election. British media mocks Trump as 'Putin' poodle.

At a meeting in Finland earlier this week, Trump refused to support the results of a US intelligence investigation that Russia intervened in the 2016 presidential election. Instead, Trump blatantly supported Putin's denial of what he called 'extraordinarily powerful and influential'.

As reported by CNN, Wednesday (18/07/2018), various newspapers in the world released a variety of headlines that essentially quipped Trump hard, who accused as a traitor to his own country.

The Daily Mirror picked a picture of Trump who was bending his head as he stood next to Putin, who smiled faintly.

Meanwhile, Russian media were busy discussing handshakes between Trump and Putin during a meeting in Helsinki. One of them Komsomolskaya Pravda who chose the headline read: "How the handshake between Putin and Trump yesterday was different from last year."

A strong reaction was made by US media, such as the New York Times that released a headline saying 'Trump, with Putin, attacking intelligence in 2016' above a photo of both shaking hands.

The Wall Street Journal on its front page declared the Trump and Putin press conference as 'an embarrassment for the state and personal'. New York Post released a sharp satire headline that read 'See No Evil'
